Since our student athletes maintain a rigorous travel and training schedule along with a full course-load, it is important that they are truly passionate about what they do. We take time to create both long and short term goals with our students—In their sport, academics, and in life—and work with them to accomplish those goals.

Applicants to Wy'East Mountain Academy are closely reviewed based on personal characteristics, school performance, individual sport history, ability and potential. We run on an open enrollment system, allowing students to join at anytime throughout the academic year, when appropriate.

2. Prepare Letters of Recommendation (2) Please include ONE letter of recommendation from an academic teacher, principal, or advisor and ONE letter of recommendation from a coach or from an adult (other than a family member) who has been a positive influence and submit with the application.
3. Submit Essay Question and Writing Sample To assist the Admissions Committee in becoming better acquainted with you, your thoughts, ideas, and goals, please submit the following:
Please submit a recent writing sample—an essay or assignment (500 words or fewer).
Students at Wy’East Mountain Academy live in cabins of four to six people. What do you hope to add to your cabin mates’ experience? What do you hope they will add to yours? (35 words or fewer)
How has your sport (skiing, snowboarding, skating) shaped your life thus far, and where do you hope it will lead you? (50 words or fewer)
4. Scholarship Application - Available only for students enrolling for the Full Academic Year. Deadline August 1st All of our scholarships are done in-house, with limited availability.
Scholarships are based on: Academics (grades), Athletics (ability, drive, & industry knowledge), Attitude (heart), and individual financial need. Financial need may be verified by a third party independent financial need review company. Students must send us the following:
Essay (1,000 words or less):
Why are you the best candidate for an academic or athletic scholarship?
Video (2 minutes or less):
Show what distinguishes you and your talent. What do you bring to the Academy as a student athlete?
Two Letters of Recommendation:
Specific to your scholarship need. Why do you deserve a scholarship?
5. Official Transcripts from Previous Academic Institution
In order to enroll your student into our academic program, you are required to provide a copy of their official transcript from the previous academic institution. All documents must be translated into English prior to submission.
6. Interview and Visit
Prospective students are required to partake in a campus visit. If accepted into the full-time program at Wy'East Mountain Academy, any fees incurred for the campus visit will be deducted from the full-time tuition. If unable to attend in person, a phone interview will be required prior to acceptance.

Touring Our Campus
Students interested in attending Wy'East Mountain Academy are encouraged to visit campus prior to enrolling. We have two programs to fit your needs: A trial visit and a campus visit.
A 3-5 day trial period is recommended to assure that Wy'East Mountain Academy is the right fit for the student's needs. During a trial visit, potential Academy students observe and take part in the daily life of a student at Wy'East Mountain Academy.
Trial Visit Prices
$100 transportation fee to and from the Portland Airport (PDX) or train station. $200/day
A campus visit is a day trip to the Academy, where you and your student will get a tour of our facilities. It typically lasts for about two hours. During a campus visit, you will get to meet our staff, including coaches and live-in student life coaches. You and your family will get to skate, jump on our super tramp, explore the rooms and facilities and have a meal in our cafeteria.
Campus Visit Scheduling
There are no costs for a Campus Visit other than a $100 transportation fee to and from the Portland Airport (PDX) or train station if needed. Pick up and drop off must be scheduled in advance with Program Manager. Times and dates that fall outside of our standard schedule may require additional transportation fees. Tuition & Fees
The balance of the full tuition minus the Enrollment Deposit ($5,000) is due on or before the student's arrival to Wy'East. For students enrolling after the semester begins, tuition fees will be prorated based on the actual start date.
Payment Plan Option - 30% of the full tuition(including Enrollment Deposit of $5,000) is due on or before the student's arrival to Wy'East Mountain Academy, the remaining balance can be paid monthly on the first of each month throughout the academic year for a maximum of 9 additional payments. A 5% finance charge is applied to the total tuition under this Payment Plan. All payment plans must be approved and arranged 30 days prior to the student's arrival.
