Personal Statement: I started my first job out of college teaching Outdoor Science to students in Orange County, Ca. Students came to the mountains, some for the very first time - a life-changing experience for many. Living in Oceanside, Ca, at the time, I was also exposed to a deep culture of skateboarding, and snowboarding - an experience that changed my life. The combination of teaching and falling in love with snowboarding prompted me to move to Portland, where I could work on my Masters in Education and snowboard year-round at Mt. Hood. Still today, I work hard to balance these two lifestyles and am beyond thrilled to offer my passion and skillset to Wy’East Mountain Academy where students can follow their passion in a safe, unique, and rigorous landscape.
